So a small run then half hour of idle and then a 15 mile run with some foot to floor 2nd n 3rd and temps just sat here like it always has since she's doing 140mile with a trailer tomorrow and 180miles home with a 5series estate on board hopefully she's ok will check level in a couple of hours when shes cooled down

It's not so bad until a trailers on the back.
When in the city sat in traffic spot start on and on its thirsty.
A normal ish run 26 or so

Grrr Iv got one of them breather things and the pipe sat about if you want it?

Received today and you seem to have cleaned it up like new for me! Thanks for that. I'll fit it once the rest of the car is back together.

Off to Prestwood for the Steam Rally on Saturday but childcare allowing I'll have a go at the spigot bearing on Sunday and see then how we get on.

Good good sorry it was late just gave it a wipe off with a couple of baby wipes haha

Holy Moley, you have a 100 thousand MORE miles than George has!

But looks like you're gonna get away with some coolant so far as opposed to pump and rad o_O

Don't be smiling just yet :p

Wow! 194 THOUSAND miles

So a run out to take little un to see my mum.
No coolant top up needed.
Seems exactly like she was before which is good.

@biketeacherdave reset my mpg before going for you 28 she's indicated.

@Doo aslong as she's good for a while il have to replace rad water pump and thermostat one day anyway.
Milage is just a digit I broke every rule possible getting the motor. No history apart from I knew the previous owner and what he did(no paperwork tho)
Bits missing.
Cool sprung.
Veiwed it in the hammering rain.
Didn't look under it.
Looked about it took it for a 4mile run and just went il take it.

She was on 188k when I got her 8week ago.
She's got a trip to Edinburgh and back. a trip to London and back. And a trip to Sunderland and back next month.

She gets used a lot haha

That's the sort of bad sh!t I do....

Last one bought in a blizzard after a brief run, knocked him down 0.7k but sold it for +1.4k after little over a month.

Now if I could only do that twice weekly then I wouldn't need to hack and hold the world to ransom.

Apart from the gearbox whine nothing jumped out at me or made me think this is a heap itl go bang in a week or two.
It ticked all the boxes for me.
Had heaps of niggles but a 21 year old motor is always going too.
Took a chance it still drives well to be fair to it

Bought a LOW mileage beemer of the 5 persuasion a while back, not even an M-Sport....
It had kissed something a little bit harder than the 100microns of Bimmer paint but no claim made on it, little over £0.5k later I was £3k up and I only dirtied my hands courtesy of the leaky Biro!!!
That was my bestest everer.

All my bmws are basically for fun was my daily welded diff hydro handbreak.
100k in 18month 13drift days drove there and back 160mile each way.
330converted 215k on it.
New owner had it 7 week and pulled the rear subframe out.
The latest 3 touring 54 plate I should mot and sell but Iv got a local drift day a week after I get it so it's a week to sell or it's getting slammed stripped and the diff welded

Spigot bearing replaced, rear crank oil seal replaced and housing gasket. Sump back on with new gasket. Dual mass flywheel replaced. Clutch friction plate, pressure plate and release bearing replaced. Put clutch housing on and then discovered the replacement bolt for the one that sheared was too damn short. A f*cking Britpart special I'll bet, although it came in a clear bag so unsure of the make. So, left the gearbox off and cleaned out the turbo oil drain pipe, not that it needed much cleaning to be honest but it is a sod to get to normally and it was just so inviting.

Almost forgot. The Draper all encompassing clutch alignment tool was useless. So cobbled together an alignment tool with some masking tape and a couple of deep sockets. Hope to hell I got the alignment right.

Peace of mind and all that.
