This was a reply to post #13 Yes Wammers can read so he knows you changed the cylinder as well as the seal. The advice was for other less experienced members on here.:)

Started the latest of the collection today. It started on gas but nothing on petrol. No pressure on the fuel rail so will have to do a search unless someone knows what to look for and pm's me. Not bad considering that it's been laid up for, as it transpires, the best part of six years. It was a 4.0 ltr but has had a 4.6 tophat fitted

First thing I checked Tony was the inertia cut off, great minds or is it fools seldom differ ? Think its bad contact somewhere, will have to go through Rave to see what's what unless you can point me in the right direction relay/fuse wise.;):D

Same relay as diesel Alan, relay 12 fuse 39. 10 amp before 1999 20 amp after.

Workshop is quiet so today I've changed engine oil, filter, gearbox oil, transfer box oil, greased hinges, checked fluids. Cost price training exercise, I like my new job!

Didn't have the stuff for it..or the time. Or the inclination to be honest. Just need it to be fine for my trip to London this week.

Looked at her and thought I either get her moted and taxed by the end of Jan or I sell her no point her just sitting there till she rots. Life has just been busy and just not had enough time for her so sorned her but if I don't start using her I might as well get shot. Hard to say as I loved driving.

It is a weekend car just had the wife nagging me use it or move it. If I keep I'm getting her insured for work and going to use her properly but just can't get motivated to hence needing a dead line.

Had a couple of hours free today so replaced the cubby box and glove box dampers, then fitted new lpg filters and recalibrated the LPG system.
I'm not going to jinx it and say the old V8 is running well.

Week one of ownership, (last week), saw me take a big gamble as I agreed to purchase a 'wreck' of a P38 for a very reasonable price, (just before Christmas).

As I had just started my festive leave break I decided to strip the interior and repair a puncture hole in passenger side footwell.

Mouse nest, (and vast amount of nesting material as well as the two previous 'occupents'), removed and a multitude of chewed cables cut back, re-soldered and heat shrink applied to produce a professional quality repair.

Also found a tenner and three pound coins in amongst all of the crap - highlight of RR ownership to date!

A number of previous owner electrical 'lash ups' also addressed in similar manner.

All carpets and trim have been thoroughly cleaned as the interior was absolutely dreadful!

Transmission push rod removed and disassembled and final inch of outer casing removed, (as badly kinked), and gear lever movement now silky smooth - whereas it almost required two hands to select P or D previously!

Adding insult to injury the rear glass shattered, (I was not working on the vehicle at the time - honest gov), so I am now keeping an eye out for a green upper tailgate assembly.

'Spare' Immobiliser XYZ Switch disassembled in order for me to write up test and alignment procedure at a later date.

Week 2 has started with my closer examination of the spare wheel recess, (with delicate utilisation of angle grinder with sanding attachment), which has a couple of areas of bad rust so I feel a couple of additional steel plate 'patches' coming on!

I suspect I will then have to remove rear bumper and reseal all bulkhead fittings as I believe this is a common cause for water ingress?

All of this and I have yet to drive the beast - but in its defence she started first turn of the key when I had replaced all of the ECU's, BCU's, EAS and Auto Tranny Computers - whilst also ensuring that I had adorned the dash with copious amounts of fresh seaweed before turning the, (one and only), key.

Hoping to start reassembly at the weekend but not sure whether I should also deal with drooping headliner first!

Back to work tomorrow so future progress will be a little slower as of late!

May the force be with you all!

al make sure the fuel pipe hasn't rotted/split above tank if no fuel pressure ;)

Started on the new aquisition yesterday, started it on gas as the petrol pump is not working. Moved it infront of the garage and burst the rear brake pipes. As it's been stood unused of years it's not surprising that they are all rotten so started on them instead of dropping the tank to change the pump.
