Bent the track rod on a tree stump :|

Car looks like this... wasn't fun to drive the short distance off the recovery truck I tell you.

Did you not try reversing over the stump to straighten it? :D:D:D:D

The thought did quickly cross my mind.. but the people out walking their dog convinced me to run from the embarrassment as quickly as possible.

Ordered a replacement from Island this morning anyway. Only problem will be trying to line up the wheels to fit the new one..and braving the ****ey arse weather. Or, getting someone else to do it.

In other news, battery charger has arrived so the Saab's battery is now on charge! Hopefully have wheels again in the morning!

Just set it til they look reasonably straight ahead then take it for tracking. Parallel to 1/16" toe out.

...then I'll get the exhaust replaced.. as well as the 2 rear tyres that appear to be balding on the outer edge! Such fun.

It does seem never ending gotta do my centre box soon my wife thinks it will be a new car eventually going on the new parts its had

Decided after sitting on the driveway yesterday at 6am waiting for the windscreen to defrost (defro on hevac) :D:D I should do the exhaust so new centre box fitted £40 from ecp. Will do the back boxes in the new year. Hevac bulbs next x2 have gone last night.

Never ending

Been fetling iv been trying to track down my rear speaker hiss after much research and stripping everything down including the DSP amp using thermal shock I have concluded the amp is the cause like so many before me But iv tracked it down to component level. There are x2 chips under a black coating on the main DSP PCB on freezing and heating I can recreate and cure the fault.

Unless 1 of the main power amp ICS fail which is a simple fix any other fault ie hiss is not.

I'm waiting on a duff amp to play around with tho which is completely dead I will have a look see and see if that type of fault can be fixed at the least.

Did replace my duff hevac bulb so not a total loss

Replaced the track rod which was shaped like a boomerang then had the tracking done.

Had a slight blow in the exhaust.. and I'm guessing the knock on Sunday that caused the bent also caused more problems for the exhaust as it's now sheared completely.. so that's the next job.

Suffered a misfire a long way from home thought it was a coil pack or lead limped it home found 1lead Brocken off at the coil pack another disconnected was running on 6 cylinders
