Blimey, its taken a dozen posts before I get a diesel bashing!
Yeah, I was surprised too. In the end I was forced to act otherwise it looks like all the diesel owners have stopped coming on here!

Always use gen LR gaskets & head boltsOr maybe proper head gaskets rather than Chinese shite.

Indeed, that's very true. My mech was moaning the other day about the dubious origin of many LR dealer parts lately. He does insist on quality parts of known origin though unless a customer supplies their own parts. I got a slap on the wrist for using the throttle body heater plate from island as they are apparently Britpart. In this day and age unfortunately what is in the genuine Land rover head gasket bin at the dealers may well be cheap Chinese shite. A named brand like Payen or Reinz maybe a better bet.
It appears the source of my blown HG was a stressed / stripped head bolt thread in the block. Now having to helicoil.......will this ever end
Ummmm....yes, as long as the rest hold out on re-assembly. At least i have a cause of it.Hopefully, yes. Quite shortly with any luck.

I have a spare set of HurricanesFinally got told that the company who broke my truck have accepted full liability for the damage. Which is nice as it turns out that the wheels aren't holding air, which is nice as Land Rover don't supply them anymore. Here is hoping they are repairable. But things should be happening in the next few days to put her back on the road.
Might have to take you up on that offer. What'd you be after for them?I have a spare set of Hurricanes
Fitted my new air compresser pump thanks to Kurt, I know have x2 spares 1i refurbed my self after the bearing let go and sent metal into the eas diaphragm and a 2nd which I bought shortly after getting the car.

JD are over priced and break down often. Hew Holland better value and don't break down as oftenNice. Hadn't been there before. Like the John Deere but given where I live I have to support New Holland. If I can just slide one of them under the bonnet I should get some serious torque ...
