Fitted the new tailgate cables, with a bit of grease under the rubber caps, didn't realise they rusted like that or I would have replaced em sooner, I've been lucky though as last year I moved my 6 drawer tool chest back home, if they had gone then would have needed a new tailgate, and bumper!

The weather was really good so did the panhard rods (they needed doing). To get the bushes out I applied heat and used a vice to get the old ones out, with heat the outer slieve was still in so hacksawed it and drifted out with a chisle. Refited with genuine polybushes as have good results with these on other models of Land Rovers.

Just changed gear box oil and filter hope all ok took 3.5 litres out and put in just under 5 hopefully all ok will check it again in the mornin

You may have an over fill usually four litres then top up, takes just short of five to top line engine running oil cold and stick moved through gears.

Found my leak looks to be injector 1 and 4. Hopefully a guy who reconditions them can work his magic, taking them there on Monday. On the plus the test station passed it on MoT. I guess a diesel leak isn't part of the test?

Going to sort out my Viscus fan and my Injector today, replaced the heat pad on the fire wall (why I did that I dont know!) and a nice clean engine :)

Fan now sorted, seems ok after a run, and I dont get that "smell" anymore, and as soon as I started it up, it was blowing a hurricane, so thats definitely working, changed the injector as well, runs better, no very fast acceleration, then slow acceleration, its constant, as an when you apply gas, didn't get to test them in the end, Wam, did you ever say when you put them in the ECU configures them over time? or was that something else?

Configures what, the number four injector? It's just plug and play sends start of injection signal to ECU. ECU then compares that signal to signal from CPS then modulates timing solenoid to adjust timing. Number four injector doesn't do anything else.

Bix # 4 is impossible to fix if its the plastic bit... £170 all in with the vat and post ect
Bugger, I was expecting the worst for #4. Well even if he can referb #1, it'll be cheaper than buying one of them new too.

Stripped EAS compressor today, as its blowing fuse 40. Armature has been fouling wiring inside  and now going to ground I'm assuming.

Just need to figure out how I'm going to fix it before Monday :( got to drive to Bournemouth for work..
