The V8s are good on a run. **** in town tho

Most a roads round here alot of 30/40 to 60ish lot of bends to slow to about 45 50 so they come out of tc lock and well eats the fuel and dont think they'd do 20mpg with a horsebox and half a tonne of stuff in it either lol

we kind of do.. the nearest one is a couple of miles away but if thats fecked it's a 25 mile round trip to fill up for the next closest.

My 4.6 thor will stay in lockup from 35mph if you are gentle but so much torque from them compared to a gems/diesel they will pull really well from 45mph in top lockup. I get 20/21mpg genuine on a run when you work out the extra cost of diesel the gap closes further

This one would be a gems 1997. My sd1s and various stuff laying about are all gems v8 im sure iv got a complete 4.6 gathering dust somehere and a 4.0 with looms ecu and every sensor. I did have a 4.2lse plenum set up inlet manifold up with all sensors and ecu be buggerd if i know where thats sat. Is there a big comparison beween the two? And 40miles is my nearest lpg place

Night and day between a gems and thor, a friend of mine had a 96 4.6 and I thought it was broken compared to mine. They are gutless at the bottom end where as a thor engined car roars of the line and uses less fuel doing it because they don't rev as hard because of the greater torque output.

Mine is petrol for that, no LPG for me!

That gumtree one is very cheap but looks good. Pretty sure it won't be a vogue though as they only came in late 2000 iirc. Anyway doesn't matter it only added Satnav as far as I'm aware and it's just one less thing to go wrong. Looks nice though, I'm sure you know but it is a thor because of the inlet manifold looking like a set of bananas!

Saturday afternoon - Bristol to LZ11
Saturday evening - LZ11 to Kendal
Sunday morning - Kendal to Glasgow
Sunday afternoon - Glasgow to Edinburgh
Sunday night - Edinburgh to Bristol

Don't you just love these fragile, unreliable old P38s

Sound more like a steam engine when the liners drop or the HG fails:rolleyes:

Headgaskets before driving it would be standard parcel of buying v8. Ideally id perfer a diesel doubt il get one with as much history or knowledge its a low milage new engine and box haha. Means eas and them deamons too. Still with the rate the community is trying to help me il proberly have a name and see the inside of a cell before my settlement.

Know of a 4.0 litre with LPG on it about to come on the market. It just needs a couple of propshaft nuts replacing.

Due to unforseen circumstances i am looking for another range rover p38 with decent Mot and an honest sale dont mind niggles dont make it out to be mint theyre atleast 12year old now be honest about faults and il pay your asking price take a chance no quibbles. Make it out to be mint and its not il take the **** too ..I had a diesel auto which i was really happy with would consider a v8 aswell no basket cases. None that have been bodged onto coil springs. None that have had silly later grills or lights stuck in it or check it out 22in alloys.
