Clocked up my first 2000 miles in the new RR, been trouble free apart from the one random EAS fault that hasn't re-occurred since i put my old laptop with EAS suite in the boot !

Nothing. Did book it a three week holiday on the multi story car park at Manchester airport. It was well chuffed. :D:D

Didn't know Ben was a Yank. :D:D:D

Replaced the leak off pipes yet again:mad: Checked VCU, OK. Removed N/S brake calliper to check before MOT. Rusty as feck and one rubber gaiter split, Think I'm going for new callipers as they are so rusty. Going to chance ****part:eek: Shocked to see the track rod end was bleeding rust from round the rubber seal, new 4 years ago:mad: Going to have to replace it again. Never cease to be amazed at the speed at which stuff fails on Land Rover vehicles.

Any thoughts on a ****part track rod? Or should I pay more than double for Lemforder? don't usually buy anything ****part, but I figure callipers should be OK, less sure about the track rod.

There's not a lot they can feck up with a track rod. It doesnt seal or rotate, so should be OK !!

Ha Ha love the analogy, i can picture it now. i've got misguided faith, i love to support a lost cause!

Whole assembly? Worth the drive up there.

I put Lemforder on and IIRC they worked out about £60 - £80 for the whole assembly, each.

Both arms complete even with new nuts got a few hose clamps and a pair of indicator bulbs and i was 92quid. Everything iv got has been dealer items. Dingbros the towns local trade suppliers dont often have what i need. Pads are over half worn so il be having dealer pads too

I've got a box of new parts for the P38, engine / auto GB cooler pipes, 2 airsprings, drag link and other bits n pieces. Just waiting on my chest muscles healing a bit more or the weather to get warmer. Whichever comes first :D

Suspension playing funny ####er again. Think I might have to pull the whole lot out and refit, replacing bits as I find anything dodgy.

Does he deliver to Bucks? We have a Dingocroft in High Wycombe but they're a tad pricey for P38 parts - if he even has them.

Got round all the brakes today, never seen such rusty callipers in all my years, absolute crap quality, then when I'd chipped off 2mm of rust, I found the callipers are branded Lucas, always known to me as prince of darkness! Never knew they made brake parts.
One of the rear pads was rusted solid, had to drive it out.
Got the wife to rock the steering to check the joints, the track rod is really knackered after only 4 years, IMO the joints are no man enough for the job, 3 track rods in 118K miles is bloody ridiculous, no off roading either.
So a list of bits to buy & fit before the MOT next month.
