I have used the jack that comes with the L322 at the side of the road and TBH its scarey, it has to be wound up along way to get the wheel off the ground. But it is up to the job just dont instill the confidence of the bottle jack in the P38. At the end of the day its a mechanical thing that works, It has a simialar base footing as the bottle jack so whats the diff (dont look nice but) Do any owners actually check thier bottle jacks have oil in and it hasnt leaked out?
Plus the wheel brace suppied is not really fit for the job.
I carry a socket and bar, well actually 2 sockets, as the stupid covers are getting ripped off 🤔.

Also keep two smallish off cuts off of a scaffold plank, one to go under the jack when the ground is uneven and one to kneel on for the same reason, (and if it's wet anorl) ...

So the Golden girl and I have been driving around 'civilisation' today and we saw an odd thing. Nothing new in the cities and towns but I was more puzzled than usual by this one. there was a little 1989 3series beemer in front of us for a while. every time we stopped it started bouncing. Probably a good couple of inches of travel each direction.
Anyone know what might have been wrong with it? Apart of course from the dark place my mind went with the 'someone tied up in the boot trying to escape'.

bad shocks, plus its a beemer

Well I did think 'beemer, yeah must be a body that wasn't as dead as they thought when they put it in'. I did wonder about shocks but it seemed to travel over potholes without dancing.
if its a bad shock, the wheel will dance over a pothole, while the body stays fairly still
