Just dragged a load of gardening and DIY stuff back from bandq, keep me busy for a few days. Got him his own tarp to keep the boot carpet decent.
Not to mention low resistance piston ringsThis is a ten year old car, it was the original rear differential, if it was that bad from new, I think it would have either been rreplaced in-warranty for NVH or suffered a catastrophic failure at some point before now - but it does remind me of the (Nissan I think) engine plant that was the source of a recall on a lot of engines - several years worth of production, due to one of the engine assemblers being a bit OCD and perfectly aligning all the gaps in the piston rings.... because no-one had (apparently) told him otherwise.
Like my Dad used to let me have a go in his Fire Brigade van, great experienceWent and bought some beer, gave the second youngest lad a go of the 38' in the fields in a bit of mud. He was so happy
Like my dad he had a BSA Road Rocket with sidecar combi. Used to sit me on tank to steer it down gardens and into garage. Priceless those memoriesLike my Dad used to let me have a go in his Fire Brigade van, great experience
I learned to drive at age fifteen taking my Dad's Series 1 Land Rover round our smallholding. Previously I had learned to ride a motorcycle on his D1 BSA Bantam. When the parents were out my mates & I used to take the BSA for a spin round local roads. I'm surprised none of the neighbours ever reported us to my parents as I was fourteen at the time.Like my Dad used to let me have a go in his Fire Brigade van, great experience
PricelessMy dad had a couple of bsa a10's
A road rocket and a lightning with a plunger frame with side car.
He couldn't go over 50mph with them as they vibrated themselves to bits
We did a trip down to the Kent bike show and I had a go in the field on the bike when he'd built the engine into a custom frame.
What memories
All bore does have that trim level. Think you've misunderstood Brian's post. My mate has one, looks like a tarts handbag inside, too garish for me. Outside looks nicer though with the colour coded bits. Low spec though. eg- one has to manually move ones seat, scrape ice of ones windscreen and sit ones posterior on cold seats as well as wash ones own headlamps ffs!Chap did say red carpets etc
I got round being grassed by the neighbours by dressing up in my dad's bike gear including the ff helmet before going out the house.I learned to drive at age fifteen taking my Dad's Series 1 Land Rover round our smallholding.
