Well there is now a 4.2 supercharged 05 sport out side, he got not bad price 4,695 with 108k want a few jobs mainly cosmetic bits
awww it sounds nice :vb-biggrin:
The noise is great, i chopped my center boxes out and left the cats and stock suitcase box,
And got a k and n panel filter,
Its made it sound a bit more angry on hard throttle but still silent inside,
The way it purrs upto about 4000 then the supercharger whine takes over upto gear change is quite addictive
Really smooth engines the 4.2s abit i know sport/l322 has a few differences intake and exhaust wise

I used that guide too with one exception. Marty says to save the little plastic pips that are cut off so they can be reused to 'weld' the switch back on to the pcb. I've done 3 switch packs and have used a door card plastic stud twice and a zip tie once as fillers and they work fine. I use a large 6" plastic croc clip to clamp the switch in place before the welding which helps a lot or another pair of hands. Test that the cleaning contacts has worked by hooking it back up to the car before welding.
Based on your post I dis the welding with a zip tie. Makes a stinky mess but it works and works better dan welding on the old cut offs. I found that it worked best when you put the soldering iron onto the stub that sticks trough the board, then push in the ziptie from an angle and keep it in place while pulling away the soldering iron. Then cut odd the zip tie and melt the bit still stuck to the board down into a blob.

Went and bought a 4.2sc l322, great price and honest seller, interior is perfect, bodywork needs paint on arches but not rotten and whole car just needs a good polish, went down a farm track in it today and then heard a grinding sound, turned out one of the pins on handbrake had pulled through so hour later that’s bolted through until weekend when I’ll change pads, discs and shoes and generally refurb rear brakes, underneath is crispy but rock solid so gonna give it all a good hammering and wax treat to keep it solid.

Getting cylinder 8's manifold bolt out is near impossible unless the arch liner is taken out, luckily it yielded my desicrated corpse of a mudflap came out too :)

Note the complete lack of any rust, amazing comparing a P38 to a D2 the latter would probably have no floor behind that cover ;)

Oh and the compost heap against the sill which had pushed the cover off!!

Still no rot.. :)

Crosshatching is still present in the bores..

Happy so far.
