Good news! I found out why my battery died as quickly as it did. I left the vehicle lights on.
Bad news. Turns out without a working drivers door you really can't enter the EKA. It just trips the alarm.
Good news. The battery took charge like a champion and looks perfectly fine, even after being murdered by my stupidity.

Lesson from this debacle? Invest in a good DVM you can get reliable readings from. Be a whole lot easier to fix my door with one. Instead now I have a really expensive lawn ornaments.
No need to spend a lot on a DVM, a serviceable one can be had for less than £20.

The one I have now was about £20 and beyond getting a "this wire has some electric in it", it really isn't any good. Even continuity to the probes is inconsistent. So it made it difficult to trust the results.

Velleman DVM890 is what I have been using in the garage for about 10 years, Tenma are also good. Don't get an Auto Ranging meter, they can be a PITA when tracing problems, you need manual ranging.

Looked at Otto's rear brakes, think that will be a calliper and disc replacement soon. They might be salvageable, but only after a good cleaning / soaking / blasting. Discs are worn and marked. With 2 tons to stop and a healthy engine I'd rather have new / good brakes. And a pig of a job so off to the friendly garage soon I think.
Also had a look at the middle silencer blow - patchable, so got some of the stuff to do it and will get round to it in due course. Nice hole on the entry to the middle box does give a lovely burble though.

Exhaust blowing can melt the EAS pipes:eek:

Pulled it out to do a bit more tidying of the garage-give it a spin later.

After £500 and a month of waiting, the Nanocom verdict is.................. No Fault Found.
I have decided to rebuild one of the two compressors Dave kindly gave me and replace the current one in case that is the reason for the now daily EAS faults
I have also ordered new back boxes as they are leaking, even though they are not that old :(
The MOT is booked for a months time, I hope to have any issues sewn up by then :D

Otto's problems were a mixture of compressor and the blue pipe to the valve block having a split so the system couldn't build pressure properly. Make sure that is solid, it was only when I took that off Otto the split was apparent.

So it could be the driver pack causing spurious faults.
