When I park on level part of our drive the RR stays up all night in fact several days. If I park on unlevel part due to self leveling it lowers. This past week when this has happened its taking a bit longer to raise to height. It was a refurbed compressor fitted about 4 and half years ago so maybe time for new seals. I have a spare compressor refurbed in my box of spares so thought straight swap alas on testing with power compressor runs with plenty of output but thermal switch faulty. Can't get a reading through ,it looks US. Weird I changed this when I refurbed the compressor a few years back but now it seems duff. Ha well refurb kit ordered and at least I can sit at the kitchen table to change them:D

Never figured out why, but usually mine will stay up when i park, sometimes it will settle level to the bump stops as soon as i turn the ignition off

I have found that but by leaving the engine running for about 30secs before turning off it doesn't do it. Think its something to do with it self leveling after braking

Rocker shaft off!! Lots of wear on one of the rockers, bit less on another. I'll bet that's the knocking i get when it's hot.
The shaft doesn't look 100% straight either, metal ruler along and i can fit a 0.08mm felt gauge under!
Wondering if i just need to replace the shaft and all the rockers so i don't have to touch it again... Not got the head off yet

Drove Red Rover 100 miles to pick up a replacement rear bumper for Brown Rover, and 100 miles back. The new belt on the alternator has stretched a little so it needs tightening up now, but that's a job for a day where I've not spent 5 hours driving it!

Got the fan and fitted it. No idea what it is and it seems to lock up more than required? Maybe needs to settle in. It’s lighter than the old one seems to have less drag/tank sound. The vibration I’ve been worrying about is now gone so must have been the imbalance of the seized fan.

Stuck in traffic for an hour but did get some pics. Engine coated in diesel - can’t find these gates spills anywhere?

Won’t fit it in that bin! Lucky should dissolve into daffodils by March. BB2B84C0-FA23-4590-9781-924847D2D37B.jpeg

That'll be your noise.

Oh and I've had a few RV8's with cracked pedestals, not good.

Greta won't be your friend, but at least your engine won't eat itself!
Loving it lol, Greta theres one for you, net wealth $1 million, gifted a Tesla to get her dad to drive her about, reporters found a load of plastic bags and empty tins loose on show in the back of it at a conferance she attended in Canada during the elections (shes not political do not believe what you see !) and then they had to charge em from generators lol
Island 4X4 came within 24 hours nice to see some companys are still as they use to be and on the ball.

We might need to migrate to What Grinds Your Gears if we get onto Greta for real :D
I feel sorry for her, she's clearly been manipulated because she doesn't seem to be all there.

Pedestals look ok..
What do you recommend, replace the worn rockers, (steel or aluminium?) Or i see you can get a new shaft and rocker kit, dunno if they are any good though?

A little tool that hooks under a nearby bolt or the rocker shaft. I also used to be able to compress the springs with an open ended spanner and hand pressure on motorcycles.
Like the tappet compressor tool for Hinckley Triumphs or old Yamaha 4's? Seem to remember that was a bit like a C-spanner that pivoted the bucket down against the cam so you could pop the shim out / in.
