What did i do with my range rover today?:(
well for the last couple of weeks Ive been very under par and having to take it easy and working on the car..
but since the breakdown ( car not me, although i wouldn't be surprised if i do have one though )
Ive replaced the in tank diesel pump, it was totally dead and god only knows for how long it was dead for..this caused the breakdown
the inline diesel pump, this had been changed in the past by a previous owner, but how long ago, and has it be over stressed?
the Bosch cp1k high pressure pump reseal, although i found the seals were intact,but a little flat on the seal edges.
pressure regulator re seal, i found debris around regulator seal,approx a 3mm shard of plastic sitting on the seal
the diesel leak off pipes, frayed and silly not to have done them at this stage
removed the p o s air-con compressor tensioner, only after fighting with it for 2 1/2 hours totally seized, and its a replacement part !
removed both drive belts ,waiting for new ones to turn up
I then found water pump was on its way too, the bearings were a little sloppy, then with viscous hub on it the play was exaggerated, so waiting for new water pump too arrive also
then i cleaned and painted the front and rear sub frames
everything is now cleaned and its just a parts waiting game now..
