I have GKN to go in. old UJ is rusted in solid I greased it but its rumbling. Got no way of getting heat on it bar lighting small fire under the fuel tank
I think if you take the battery out you can unscrew the rod,it does look a bit short so straightening it may help or replace it with a piece of studding.Indeed, I have been taught by the best afterall not bad for 26 and standing a year

problem is my own personal list of what I want to do is far greater since.
And I’m never doing a windscreen again!
Problem for today is my battery box got obliterated some time ago, now have new clamp (thanks Alan) but rod doesn’t reach??

As you can see it is still bent, maybe the end snapped off? Not case of bending theclamp - the rod is below the battery?
If I push down on it feels like it pushes against the arch liner but won’t come up. Not taking liner out til I have fluid to do Bix’s calliper.
Still soaking the rear UJ and scraping the crud out as it’s eaten away by the penetration fluid. Got set of 4 new circlip pliers, one for every clip
Aren't you a stud AlanI think if you take the battery out you can unscrew the rod,it does look a bit short so straightening it may help or replace it with a piece of studding.
When I was alive.Aren't you a stud Alan

I'd say take the prop off and do the work off the vehicle. Makes it 100% easier. I had to use the press at work. Just make the slip joint so when the shaft inevitable falls apart you can reassemble it.I have GKN to go in. old UJ is rusted in solid I greased it but its rumbling. Frightening, but cheap
Mostly scrubbing and scraping at the masses of baked on yuck in the rocker covers and liners - improved but still a long way to go. Wife worked on the block cleaning and bits of engine bay as she has more patience with fiddly / delicate bits than me. We make a good team. Hopefully the weather will hold and we will get a lot further forward this week, although I am working and we are both being beaten by the chiro on Thursday.
She's out with her matesDishwasher?
Cheers i wasn't sure, some cars invert the number, couldn't rule out that as a JLR trick!!negative is lean
It sounds like a powered noise rather than purely mechanical. Need to get someone turning the wheel for me while i have a listenMight be a dried out ball joint.
Don't get my missus to do it. She nearly run my head over when I did something similar. It sounds like a powered noise rather than purely mechanical. Need to get someone turning the wheel for me while i have a listen
