:eek::eek::eek: i was thinking about £100 :( the local garage charges £25ph
If they haven't done one before and they follow the book taking out wheel arch liners etc, they could be looking at 1.5 to 2 hours a corner, that could still come out a £200 plus parts:eek:

The power of communication !
Surly if you knew a short cut you would have the intelligence to speak ,
Unless you have deep pockets

Garages are not interested in short cuts, at least not as far as telling the customer about them, more hours = more money.

I understand where your comming from but that's it if you let them know you know then you can't get ripped off . Just so glad I spent my life pulling things to pieces.

Yes you are quite right, Ford used to list 2.5 hrs for the old Fiesta clutch replacement. We could do it in 21 mins. This went to offset jobs we could not charge the full hours for. Swings and roundabouts:)

i got a plan i am going to print datas how to and then i can tell them how i want it done because datatek is airbag king :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::D:D:D

Removed the steering box and replaced the lower seal and refitted and set it all up correctly as the numpty before me had the steering box not centralised drag link adjusters seized took the the slack up with the adjuster and it is a pleasure to drive. Now all I got to do is attack the rest of the list

Replaced the nearside side light bulb. I can't for the life of me remember when I last replaced a car bulb, they just don't seem to pop anymore.

My lefthand headlight bulb popped last week - which was a surprise because I upgraded them with some whizzy philips ones (on offer) when I first got the car about three years ago. (no I didn't touch the glass) after seeing the extortionate price of bulbs in halfords I spotted half a OEM bulb twin pack priced down to a fiver - which will get my by until the flashy ones ('scuse the pun) arrived from Amazon.

Changed the HT leads, quite a difficult and painful job on a THOR and, replaced heater temp sensor, and HEVAC bulbs and all is good, apart from my sore hands!

Painted the Grill and Headlamp trims, they were looking shabby and faded.

Made and fitted ventilation grill in the top of the EAS box (actually this was a couple of weeks ago). Compressor runs much cooler now.

I took the plunge and removed the drivers door card to see what was up with my window mech.( worn teeth ) while I was there I removed the superfluous tag on both front door locks with a new dremmel I nipped and bought from B+Q. They're on offer £29.95 for the 3000 model with 15 tools ! I'm feeling rather proud of myself as everything went back together without a hitch !
