Depending on thickness / finish / etc (haven't got anywhere near the sump yet!) sometimes a homemade cork gasket can be effective. I did that on the Guzzi for the rocker gaskets as the paper ones always leaked. Of course that is a small enough area I was able to cut 2 from a single cork floor tile....

Cork is amazing I’m surprised it’s not used more unilaterally. Definite upgrade to paper

Mine has 5 now. LOL and i have just paid £1750 in total for 5 genuine new 21 inch diamond polished wheels, tyres and TPMS valves. Bank balance has had a real hammering this month. LOL
Where do you put the 5th wheel does it still have a space in the boot floorpan?

i noticed those Tpms valves on sale tuther night while perusing RangeRover porn. £53 on sale  .... don’t drop one! :D

Yes the 5th fits nicely inside the boot under the floor cover. I just removed the thin space saver wheel and polystyrene rim it sits on and placed the 5th full size wheel/tyre in there ( carefully as they are bloody heavy ) and fastened it down with the long bolt. Fingers crossed i will never need it. LOL

I got my new set of 4 TPMS valves off a main dealer on ebay for £112 delivered ( Veterans discounted ) they are genuine items, pre-programmed already and have a lifetime battery in them he said. Took my tyre fitted 30 seconds to fit each one and torque it to between 4-8 NM and then he put his TPMS scanner against it which gave a green light and a beep to say they were active.

We have one of these in the L322. I am sure they do them for the 405
RANGE ROVER L322 VOGUE SPARE WHEEL LIFTING HARNESS | BreakerYard.com

It sits under the wheel in the well. when you need it take out the center bolt in the wheel close lower tailgate, then hook the black plastic bit in the latch on top of tailgate, Open tailgate and insert a rigid rod to stop tailgate closing again. Then all you do is slide the wheel to the edge. Much better for our old backs:)

There is a harness in spare well of mine. You wrap it under the wheel before you bolt it down, can then grab the tail and pull the wheel out with one hand!
Spare is in the shed though. A 32 won’t fit in there so no point carrying a 255/55 spare around. Keep my towing chains and that in there instead.
Some P38s have a wheel cover and goes in the boot

Yes ive seen/read about that in my user handbook. Why its not fitted for the space saver rim either is beyond me. Equally as heavy and awkward to remove when needed.

Swapped my wheels over today on my L405. Bloody tiring job it has to be said. Thank god for air and power tools i have. Stuff doing it at the side of the road!!!!!!! A job for Green Flag i think should i ever need to.

Picked up a new jag today not registered yet and the customer must have asked for a spare wheel and the only place to carry it is in the boot in a bag flat no room for golf clubs with it in there about as much use as a chocolate fire guard

Surprised they asked for a spare wheel. Most drivers of new vehicles, these days don't expect to do any hands on , including changing a wheel.

Might want to put a strap under it to allow you to pull on the strap to lift it out. Not sure if there are luggage dixing bolt holes on yours but I would be surprised if there aren't.

There are mate thanks. I might have a look for the correct spare wheel lifting kit/strap featured in my UHB
