Ebay but get one with lower mileage and make sure you change the BECM to miles before fitting or the BECM will overwrite the miles with the km value. You might be able to ptogram the real mileage with Faultmate. Don't think Nanocom can do it.
Cheers Grrrr, I’ve looked for a couple of weeks and can’t find one with lower mileage. If you see one with less than 88k miles let me know ;)

The dealer marjon though DVLA haven’t laid an egg yet, it’ll come down Thursday in any case. I’ll find a way to get it the 2.5 miles from the ferry port to my house without breaking any laws! ;)

Stay on top off them to get it done. there was a guy on here recently who got left out to dry with the dealer not doing it when they promised they would, think he took the car back in the end.

Will do. I let you know next weekend and hopefully some feedback on condition etc. Pictures don’t always tell the whole story........

Delivering it to Portsmouth on trailer then I’ll take it to the Island.
Have they just took a deposit off you and balance once you are happy at point of delivery or have they took the whole amount off you and charged you on top for delivery?? The dealer who i have done a 3rd time lucky deal with has only took a 10% deposit with balance to pay on delivery ONCE i am 100% happy and FREE delivery to my door with a complimentary tank of fuel included too.
I am sure all will be good for you and enjoy your new P38 buddy.

Drove it. Realised it needs filled up again.

God damn 15mpg. Totally worth it, though.
Do you re-set your fuel/trip computer each time you fill up to clear the residual memory of the fuel computor?? also is that 15 mpg poodling around town or on a motorway at crusing speed say 65 ish??? Have you tried a K&N panel air filter in your air box as these do help a little or do you just drive it like you stole it hence only 15 mpg. LOL

Do you know your local garage at all well and ask them if they would loan you their trade plates for a couple of hours for a drink?? worth asking buddy.

K&N filters on a petrol p38 are not always the way to go as the oil on the filter can play havoc with the Maf sensor.

Don't think he meant those ****ty filters Brian but a panel one that fits in the filter box.;):D[/QUOTE

The panel ones are the same as the cone sporty stuff they are still oiled and cleanable. i had one one in the p38 till the other week but as the my dozzle has no maf no worrys only took it out as it wants a clean and i was givern a new Mann one.

Had them in all my cars for 40 years now buddy and NEVER had an issue with them. They have ALWAYS improved all my cars running. I was introduced to them by a close personal family friend who has worked for a TOP F1 team for 45 years now and if they are good enough for F1 cars then they are good enough for me. Same can also be said for the Slick 50 oil and fuel treatments which again he introduced me to and they use in F1 cars. Never had any engine failures ever and they always run smooth with excellent oil pressure too. Its all personal choice at end of the day buddy.

K&aN allegedly do have better flow than some others, but that comes at the expense of letting more particulates through them just about any other filter

The local LR specialist is a shooting buddy and I recon he lend them but no reason to think it won’t have the reg by Thursday. The DVLA check had been cashed a week or so ago according to the dealer and documents usually follow soon after.

Well...... call me **** but paid in full. I might be needing the name of your guy!

Main use for a cotton gauze filter on a p38 is off-roading. Diesels in particular as the standard airbox is more than big enough for what it needs. If you get a paper one wet you have to dry it out, the other you can flick out the water and carry on.

The DVLA had an outbreak of the virus a couple of weeks ago ,a lot of their staff are working from home I believe. ;)
