Hope so get a bit of a rest this looking after her is getting to be hard work Alan all so demanding on my time

On a different note, this is being delivered on Thursday, Jap import from a dealer in York. 98 4.6 HSE, 88k miles. Wish me luck! On the bright side having owned the 95 4.0L for 6 years I know what to expect!
That looks very tidy mate. I hope you have a good experience with them as i know of a few chaps who have had bad dealings with them in the past. Hopefully they are good now. The only experience i have ever had with them is when i have asked lots of the usual questions about their examples which they have NEVER bothered to reply to which is why i have NEVER bothered to go there.

Ha ha....:) yep I do. Got a set waiting at the feferb place till I need them. I do like them on 18’s but also keeping it factory. Opinions anyone?
First thing i would do is remove those awful window deflectors CAREFULLY and buy a nice slim set of Heko/Climair ones instead. It also removes the " i am from Japan " look.

Yep, Waxoiled. I’ll get her on a ramp and inspect it when I get a chance. My only reservation is the KPH Speedo and metric computer. I haven’t seen it in the flesh, brought it in December in the lockdown. I thought it’d be taking the **** to drive from the IOW to Yorkshire to view. I hope I don’t regret that......
Mate, as part of the deal they should be at least putting a MPH face on the speedo for you and also a FM band expander for the radio so you can get more than just 1 uk station. I have owned 3 Jap Imports now and although all have been bloody excellent cars they do need some fettling and a real good underside waxoil or they will rust like buggery over here. I am assuming the Jap import P38's still have the twin rear foglights in the standard place and not a ****ty one hanging down off the bumper. Also CHECK THE TYRES for AGE on the side walls. They might look good but they might be old and with the new UK M.O.T law coming in regarding tyre age you don't want to get stung for a new set of tyres too unless you plan to change the wheels for another set and bigger size.

Yeah, bloody awful, how do they come off?
Yes they are horrid mate. I had them on 2 of my Nissan Elgrands. One set were bolted on with clips which was easy to remove them and the others were stuck on so a little heat from a heat gun helped soften up the 3m tape and they gently pulled off the cars window frames and afterwards i just clean up the frames with polish. Looked 100% with them off. Same too with the silly Jap stickers which were on the rear windows and tailgate.

All good advice mate, thanks. It has been waxoiled but will get it done again if I find it hasn’t been done properly. There’s no hangy fog light so I’m assuming integrated. Tyres I agree, I’ve got a freshly refurbished set of 18’s which I’m in two minds about, 18’s or standard? Radio I’m going after market so no bother. MPH face, I didn’t think that was something available, where can I find one?

Best of my knowledge, the tyre age rule was for HGVs, (mini)buses, and coaches. Cars haven't been included in it. I think it is because car tyres don't get retreaded and a 10 year old tyre would most likely be perished.

She does look nice and tidy. She will be immaculate condition as nearly all Jap imports are buddy. Mine were like bloody brand new and they were 10 years old. The Japs really do love and cherish their cars out there. Good news then if your gong after market stereo then. MPH dial face i am not sure if they are available or not for the P38's but if your happy driving in KPH all i will say is watch your speed so you don't get stung.
Yes i would DEFFO get it wax oiled again so you know its been done properly. All they do is a quick blow over which is never enough for our roads. If you plan on keeping her garaged or at least under a car port then she will stay lovely for years if looked after by you which i am sure it will be.
So did you say they are delivering it to you on I.O.W or are you driving all the way to York to get it??

My M.O.T tester was telling me about it 2 weeks ago and its deffo coming in for car tyres if they are around 7 plus years old. Not sure when exactly he said but it is.

Another thing i have just noticed too buddy is those rear number plate hangers which are for the square Jap style/size plates to sit into. Again horrible looking and i would suggest you have an oversized number plate made for the rear, removed those clips and put some 3m tape over the holes or silicoon them and then put the plate on over the holes with 3m tape. Its not uncommon for Range Rovers, Rollers or Bentleys to have oversized rear number plates on and TBH they look better and fill up some of that space at the same time.

Delivering it to Portsmouth on trailer then I’ll take it to the Island.
