I took her for a spin before my last validation today to qualify as an aircraft technician. Clearly a combination of that drive an Chance my good luck P38 worked, because I have finally passed, almost 2 years after getting here.
It isn't offical yet, but it is a strong pass. Can't remember my course average, but it is at least high 80%. It's been emotional working with kids straight out of school

Now I can spend some time getting my P38s squared away.
Great result for you.

Put a thin wire in position 85 relay 4 and push the relay back in attach test lamp and see if you have power .Remember the engine is best running and the screen button on.The ignition energises relay 15 which provides an earth to relay 5 which powers the n/s screen and provides power to activate relay 4 for the o/s of the screen. If you have power at the test lamp the lift the fuse box and check the continuity of the purple light green wire in the violet plug.if you lift the fuse box put a mat under it so the BECM live wires don't earth on the mounting.@kermit.rr check my edits
Righto, am i correct in thinking, 12v comes in on pin 30 and is switched on to pin 87? If 87 is earthed then the connection from the fusebox to screen and from screen to earth is ok?
I've not done the wire test yet on pin 85 yet but there is a connection from 86 on R5 to 85 on R4 which in theory means the relay should energise

A few days ago I removed the upper windscreen trim to check the bond between the screen and the car, unfortunately I lost what little patience I had at the time and might of broke all but 1 of the original clips..

I did managed to get it loosely back on but it looked horrible and flapped around like sluts fanny.

Side trims off and the old clips removed.

New clips slipped on and the trim piece refitted.

Must say Henry_b quite like your avatar. Reminds me of a lady I once knew many years ago:D:D
Was a time when all his avatars were like that :D

New Hancook battery in and back running!! Have to say it’s not to be snubbed, terminals are thicker so had to widen the connectors but it powers everything beautifully. Started up first beat hardly any smoke unless I rev it right up then it’s plumes of black so it’s Oil change time.
Have new filter from a member here, can get oil but I need a new sump plug & washer. When I search I only get cheap Chinese glow in the dark type silly ones can anyone clarify for me a part number please?

Cleaned it all down got the moss off, reset all windows/radio etc and pumped tyres up poor compressor has had a a pummelling :)

Did you replace the double sided tape that holds the front of the trim?

If you test continuity fron 85 to earth then that should prove the circuit from relay 4 through the screen is intact. Then put a thin wire in 85and put the relay back, attach a test lamp and start the engine, switch on the screen and if the test lamp lights then you have power going to the screen and that relay 5 is doing its job.;)
