Looks pretty good value to me. But I haven’t needed to look:). And an all parts box:D

I would go piper or kent cams any day over britpart or some off the others, i have still run a kent cam in my old Cortina and they are good:D
having read on here about worn cam lobes from standard ones to me it would be a no brainer and with a bit more torque all the better:D

Piper torquemax works wonders in the 4.0 and 4.6

Mind you even a Tornado map will unlock quite a bit of power 'tis a shame they're strangled for emission reasons ;)

tis easy spending other folks money :p
Those people suggest the 'torquemax' cam for the range rover

You should still pull the rockers for inspection, it's free todo it's fairly quick and painless quiet from cold just means the oil is thicker than when warmed up.
The oilways in the rocker shaft do get filled with crap and the oil feed holes.

rockers need to come off anyways, makes sense to check them first
think what i find most frustrating is the downtime, you can't strip and rebuild down to the cam in a weekend, could I do it in 2 weekends? think it'd be a push and thats assuming 2 consecutive dry and non freezing weekends!

it just seams if your going to do it, do it right first time, saves sodding a round:D
if time wasn't an issue, i'd check the rockers and cam then order the bits i needed once i knew. tempted to gamble its the cam and get all that ordered in advance, but if i find a poorly rocker that puts everything back another week (minimum, weather dependent) while orders are placed
guessing you have to replace the full rocker assembly, shaft and all 8 rockers, not just the poorly one? if I find a dead one

I just did my rockers everything else was in pretty good shape and cleaned up nicely plenty of engine oil on assembly prob a couple of hours work at most to strip and replace much less for an inspection

I would say it depends on the cost, if they are not expensive then it would be quicker and less hassle to fit new buy the time you have cleaned up and inspected all the bits and bobs.

Checking rockers yes, but a full cam change;)

Henry please remember we are not all willing/capable to put in those 12hr day’s anymore:D

You might have a point there Jon, the last one I did was a 4.0 Gems, and those are very easy to do, the Thor slightly more difficult especially with LPG ;)

He'll do it!

Even a stock cam wakes these RV8's up, the majority are running around with near flat cam lobes and are none the wiser!

until they swap it! ;)

Some of the lobes on the last cam i changed were completely round! Not opening even the tiniest bit
