Hi Guys ,

Have read several threads about De-Catt & De-EGR for dumbos like myself what are they and can I do them myself :rolleyes: :confused: :D

EGR is the exhaust gas recirulation valve basiacally it dumps dirty air into your engine cuts off power fromt he turbo to meet strict eu emission laws and is a peice of crap. ABout £30 for a complete removal kit and about 30 mins to an hour to change.

D-Cat is to remove the cat from the exhaust system again an emission thing and again increases fuel consumptionand reduces power so a pile of crap about £60 and hour to do.

Both can be done DIY if you can use a spanner and a socket set then its easy to do and worth th effort.

hwo much ffs !! where you getting yours from then ??
egr blanking kit will cost ya nuffing if your handy with a peice of steel !
and the decat pipe will cost ya £20 from ebay
 
Thanks for the replies as above guys , sorry I didnt mention I have a Disco II TD5 ES 1999 , so I guess I will be buying an EGR and Decatting kit fairly soon then
