Hi all. Working on the bulkhead again today and I’ve got it all stripped down. I’ve ordered some panels from YRM but I’m a bit stuck as to how the inside of the bulkhead should look.
There is a box channel about 2” under the vent, but the outer end on mine is totally gone so I’ve no reference to rebuild it.
Does anyone have a picture of the inside of a good bulkhead, showing the connection of all the internal parts, in particular the box section, and the door strap mounting plate?
Or, is there an exploded diagram somewhere?
Many thanks.
Jim

I had the same issue. The top of bulhead had totally gone. See photos below of good side

Hi Neil. That’s really useful - thanks a lot.
In your final photo there’s the back of the box section - do you recall or have you a photo of how this section interfaces with the pillar? On mine, it simply ends in a rusty mess, but I feel sure it should extend all the way to the pillar, but I may be wrong.

Not sure what you mean
I made this piece out plate bent up to make an angle. This was then welded at the bottom and spot/plug welded to the door pillar

See photos below. It is sandwiched between the plates where the door seal fits.
How bad is the rest of yours as mine was pretty bad

Hi again Neil.
Do you have a photo of the inside of the bulkhead showing the internal door strap plate?
It’s in line with the top hinge and is a bend steel angle that the strap bolts too. Mines totally adrift so I’m interested in how it connects to the framing.
Cheers.

Not an unreasonable suggestion. The irony is that the other end is entirely intact.
I could remove a skin and reveal all the answers but I was hoping to not have to do any work on the RHS.
