After a 2 year gap, I finally have a defender again
this is only my 2nd defender, but it's still like finding your favourite old jumper at the back of the wardrobe after years of thinking it was lost
anyway, here she is:
Sorry, link removed for security.... images now hosted:
she cost me £2285 in the end, which I was pretty happy with. It needs fettling, I'm not a greenlaner, and I want it for 95% road use really. I'll be looking to swap the rims for proper 750R16's with avon rangemasters. Does anyone think I'll be able to do a straight swap with someone, 5 rims & tyres for 5 rims and tyres? Also, have they invented tubeless 750R16's yet? The last landy I had used to go through inner tubes at a rate of knots co's of the ribbing that they mould onto the inside of the tyres these days.
It has that huge 'special vehicles' fitted winch too. I was wondering about offering it for sale, but don't really know if it's worth anything. I'd find it much more useful to have a PTO driven generator on the landy.
Well, all thoughts and comments welcome, and I look forward to picking your brains over the coming months and years.
