Don't trust computer gimicks (not that I've ever had a RR young enough to have one fitted!) Brim to brim, preferably from the same pump if you don't need to top up en-route, is the best way to go. Suprising how many drivers, of all types of vehicle, cannot tell you their mpg, even on motors that they have owned for years. Most say something like ''I put £20 (or whatever) in & it lasts me a week''. Personally I don't care, if I can't afford to run it I'll change to a euro-box. Perhaps ignorance is bliss!
My 4.6 P38 got just over 20mpg average to the alps and back with a fair bit of messing about in the mountains whilst there. Much better than i expected.
And who buys a diesel P38 anyway?
Well i reckon the best ive done is about 4mpg.......:biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:
Its not that hard to get a stupid reading. The average MPG needs 1/2 mile to calculate, just get the old girl upto speed - 70 or so, reset trip 2 and then put it in neutral and coast...... Best I ever got was 98mpg
i have, and very happy with it as well.
luddite!!!
