If you can read this you have made it to the new system. We've been working on this for some time now, but I'm sure there will be problems and things not quite working right.
The picture gallery is still being imported, it will eventually be here!

We are now running xenForo software, which is a bit more up to date than the 6 year old vBulletin 3.8 software that we previously ran. Some new features you may like, some you may not!

Please reply to this with problems and general comments. Preferably constructive! Somethings have still to be added, some things have still to be programmed. Really we shouldn't have opened up the forum again so soon, but you all pressured us(well @Rosie did) :D

Please bear with us on requests and smileys and stuff, we still have a lot more work to do.

I've been on bulletin boards like this since the early 80s, long before the internet.
Which I helped build.

Change for its own sake is seldom beneficial.

How's them new fangled square wheels doing on yer hippo?
 
Are "conversations", the little envelope thingy, private messages? I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer

Yes. Conversation replace messages. You can also have more than one person on the conversation and they display in a list.
 
Why is the "donater" bar showing? I checked, and the box is not checked, so it should be hidden.

:rolleyes: bbs were hardly the same.. at the most basic premise, yes.

also, it's been said numerous times it needed to change as the software is no longer being actively developed.

i guess you are still on your aol dialup then? ;p
 
I am not a fan of the way the new site is set out but I will keep trying it for a while longer. I suppose it had to change at some point
 
How and can we still insert pics from our PC or do I/we have to use and outside pic img ie photo bucket or tinypic ? also I must have ticked somewhere that any new thread alerts me in my email address driving me crazy ????

Late last night the lights dimmed, the wind rose to hurricane force and it started hailing. I looked out the window and the moon was fiery red. I was about to get the family up and evacuate from the city.
Suddenly I realised what had happened. I'd just performed a search in AG and it worked.

Works for me in the search box on the site too! There's a first! Confirmed. The new site is better.
 
ok I have looked n looked on my profile thingy, how do you change the well known member comment thingy under your user name, or can't we do it, soz if it's somewhere on a thread but a search didn't bring anything up ta very muchly :)
