Hey guys,
(Apologies to the OP by the way. I'm sure he did not expect his post to ignite a flame war.)
Did you know that cowboy waxoyled Big Jimmy's 110 and he only found out when he got back to his home in the south of France that the brake discs and pads were covered in waxoyl? Big Jimmy was complaining about it for years on landrovernet. What a cowboy eh?

Just wondering like

As a panel beater I used tuff coat dinol (clear & black) I used to warm the clear cavity wax up in a bucket of hot water & then apply it whilst hot into all the cavities & chassis sections. Being hot it would flow much better into all the nooks & cranny's. The black wax would be applied to the underbody & outside section of the chassis etc. Under seal is a waste of time. Rust will creep behind it. Shultz is better but I used only on new bolt on front wings AFTER I'd applied an acid etch primer to help it stick. BMW used to use a PVC base stone guard. That stuff was fantastic- It was a swine to remove when replacing panels. However, this in part was because it was only applied on top of a good acid based primer. Personally I put my old engine oil in a Shultz gun & spay the whole underbody of my discovery prior to every winter. It keeps the salt & moiture away just fine. And costs nothing. Done it for 6 years now & the underbody is as solid as ever. I'm not saying this is better than a professional cavity wax process but if it's an older vehicle... Cavity waxing is only as good as the person applying it. Done properly it will be a time consuming and thus expensive job as bumpers, door cards, petrol tank etc. should be removed.

Your business model is based on "yellow jounalism"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_journalism:
"Techniques may include exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering or sensationalism. By extension, the term yellow journalism is used today as a pejorative to decry any journalism that treats news in an unprofessional or unethical fashion."

People can have all kinds of agendas for posting negative things about my business, For example, many people who post on Land Rover forums are actually in the trade and may do rustproofing themselves and see me as a threat to be eliminated. What was Big Jimmy's motivation for making the absurd claim that he drove 1,000 miles to his home in France straight after my rustproofing to find his brake discs and pads covered in waxoyl? An impossibility as the first couple of dabs of the brakes would a) reveal the contamination and b) burn off any waxoyl. How could he drive 1,000 miles without noticing anything wrong with his brakes? The thread this appeared on popped up just under the google research page for my business and was used to drive my customers to the landrovernet forum for two years - doing incredible damage to my reputation and business. When I finally went toe to toe with Big Jimmy on landrovernet and exposed how ridiculous his claim was, the thread was removed and the forum folded soon afterwards. What exactly was Big Jimmy's motivation? Was it pure spite and malice? Or was he being paid by a competitor of mine to spew his bile. Maybe Rustmaster?

Now, a similar scandal mongering thread authored by Eric has appeared under the google research page for my business, designed to drive my customers onto this moribund site in order to sell advertising. Who is Smithy exactly? If we knew we might know what his agenda is.

Defender 2, and Disco 3 were set up at exactly the same time as Rustmaster was founded by an advertising man who had been made redundant. Is this coincidence?
I once (several years ago) received an email from a guy who was a "regular" on Defender 2, who had posted a complaint about Rustmaster on the forum and the post had been immediately removed. I wish I had kept this email. The chief purpose of Defender 2 these days seems to be to promote the business of their acknowledged supporter, the Dinitrol guru. Do you think any complaints about his business would not be immediately deleted? By the way, if you look as assiduously for complaints about Rustmaster as you do for complaints about me, you will find some, in the same way as there was a complaint on landyzone about Defender2' Dinitrol guru.

The problem with your business model Blue Beasty, is that your members post under a cloak of anonymity. In the US of the 20's and 30's, people became sick of all the lies and scandal mongering of the yellow press and it died out when proper newspapers who reported objectively came along. Users are deserting forums in droves to go to facebook where you can see exactly who is posting. Very little (if any) score settling, point settling and deliberate, malicious libel on facebook.

Get your tanks off my lawn!

Edited to correct: Eric not Smithy was the OP of the muck racking thread.
