I saw a thread a few month back (may of been started by bobsticle) about a home brewed recipe for waterproofing canvas

Ive searched and cant find it can anyone remember or find the post ?

I used to (still do but not so much) partake in all sorts of natural living stuff.

I made a Greenland wax for a tent once and I tried it on my landrover - tilt is still waterproof 3 years later

Recipes is here, the trick is to rub on a small amount and melt it into the fabric with a hair drier and do little and often and not overload the fabric. It will darken it a bit. Leave the tilt out in the sun and blot off the excess with kitchen paper. Will be stiffer and first but it soon loosens up.

Recipe here
