I think I have now sorted the water in the passenger foot well (water was running down the A post from a hole at the top of the post underneath the guttering)

I pulled the carpet & foam out to dry and guess the leak must have been there a while as the floor is now rusting (although the rust hasn't eaten through the floor as yet)

With the above in mind can anyone recommend what to put on the rust to keep it at bay - Is it true that Hammerite eats through the rust and will make the floor structure weaker?

Some advice what to use plse

Fertan to treat the rust. Followed by a zinc phosphate primer, then a coat of whatever on top.
