I actually considered some small plastic ducks, would have been like the fairground lucky dip with them going around the wheel well in a circular motion :):) Hook a duck and win a prize :):):):)

So it’s been a few days and (fingers crossed) it’s all dry in the boot and boot compartments, just need a dry day so I can permanently seal the tailgate hinges

Lol I think the war only ends when your waving goodbye to the green oval but I’m not at that stage yet.
I know someone with a brand new rangie and the ridiculous thing is all the common faults still exist, he had to have the AA out yesterday because the car tried to finish him off by dropping the front left corner on him at 70mph causing the car to swerve violently, if it had been the drivers side he would have hit oncoming traffic,

I have spent ages looking for answers for this and although this is said to be a common topic I could never find the answer that sounded like a fix to mine. I nearly gave up looking until by chance I came across 'anorakmarks' responses to this and the water collection is exactly where he points out to in his pictures. I have spent ages looking for a solution to this and I think his suggestion is going to be the one that solves this. I have attached some pictures, could you confirm if this is the area I have highlighted is the problem that needs the seal/gasket?

if you put an @ in front of his name as in @anorakmark he will get a rattle on the bars of his (our) secure detention facility, at which point he will be offered a mobile phone to rent for 10 fags, 20 teabags or 3 minutes playing chase the soap in the showers and you should get a reply as soon as he has parted company with 10 snout, the pgs or dried himself inside and out.
With your name - I would tread carefully when @tomcat59alan is around. ;)

I would suggest trying this

it’s designed for caravans boats etc it’s a water that’s white you drop it over areas and through capillary action it seeps in sets and dries hard.
It’s called captain Tollys creeping crack cure

If water gets in this stuff will to and set seal

Good info here guys.
I have just bought a L322 TD6 03. So I will be working my way through the usual raft of work needed. As a long time LR owner, I am well used to that routine.

It’s been done already, in 2018, with an invoice to proof. Plus another transmission fluid change in 2019. I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise. I know there’s plenty to go wrong on these.
There is the usual rust on the rear inner arches to do though of course. One step at a time though.

Oh dear, you know the rear arches are made from boron steel, check for welding procedure before starting.
