After changing the top gasket my td4 engine still mixes water and oil even before starting the engine.
The mechanic says there's no water in the radiator so the oil cooler is okay.
What could it be then. Please help me guys.
Would the car still run with this problem owl?.My mate has the same, oil mixing with water but appears to run okish.Gets a bit of backfire on tick over!.There is a water to oil heat exchanger when you turn the engine off there is no oil pressure but still pressure in the cooling system, hence an internal leak in the heat exchanger and the result is water in the sump. I have seen oil in the water too but get the cooler pressure tested.

Hi guys,"The Engineer"was right, the cylinder head and the cylinder head gasket didn't fail, after talking the block for pressure test,it failed,so the block is cracked hence water going straight into the oil channel into the sump.Thanx guys for your ideas.
