OK i've searched the forum but not really found anything that confirms why my sun visors had water on them after rain.
1998 TD5, no sun roofs and no roof rails.
The windscreen seal needed doing by applying black sikaflex along the top of the seal and under the corners.
I've also put clear sikaflex along the roof gutters and particularly to the front corners.
However, all these areas are below the level of the sun visors so i'm still unclear as to how water had seemingly accumulated on the visors where each of the screw fixing holes for the overhead storage are.
Is it because the wind drives it up there?
Is the higher moisture/humidity from the leak causing condensation on the roof that is getting above the visors?
Do I still have another source of a leak at a higher level?
The only other source may possibly be the alpine window seals but do they leak?
The car is parked on the relative flat overnight and since sikaflexing the windscreen seal and gutters, the headlining front edge is now dry.
We have some awful weather forecast this week so I will know if its cured or not but does anyone have an opinion on how water was getting above the sun visors?

If it’s not the alpine windows, which can leak, check above the back door. I read something once about the roof separating there. Is it parked on a slope facing downhill at all ?

My son's D2 had a leak and had the head lining out for almost a year. Windscreen refitted didn't cure it, sealer in the gutters and corner of the screen didn't cure it, or roof bars. Then all of a sudden it stopped, so very frustrating but glad it stopped. When you see a picture of how all the roof panels join up its of no surprise that it leaks.

No its a solid vehicle.
We've had rain all day today and I've checked and everything is bone dry, including the visors.
Points of note are no wet edge to headlining and no misting up and wetness to inside of windscreen, which is the opposite of pre sealing the windscreen and gutters.
Im tending towards the water that was accumulating on the visors was as a result of evaporation in the mid-day sun, what we had anyway, and condensing on the roof skin and then finding its way onto the visors.
They are dry like everything else now so i'll keep an eye on them and if i see any water i'll investigate the rear roof glazing.

Good luck with it anyway. I’m glad none of my Land Rovers leak…….I wish 😏

To close this out we have had plenty of rain again and i've additionally been out in it too.
Not a drip and no sign of anything above the sun visors.
Job sorted, resealing the windscreen rubber and the roof gutters has cured all leaks.
Its clear to me the water must have got above the sun visors due to condensation following some evaporation of the very wet front edge of the headlining and inside of the screen.

Sorry guys this isn't closed. After a few days of the sun visors being dry dispite more rain i have now noticed water above the drivers sun visor again and there was a little condensation on the bottom drivers side corner of the windscreen.
Looks like ill have to remove the head lining to investigate further so until thats done its not concluded just yet.

When I pulled the head lining out mine the inside of the windscreen frame was rotten & was leaking. :(
