Anyone have any recommendations for a better Td5 windscreen washer pump? Don’t fancy the Optimill ones £££

I bought a britpart one, I tried it on the bench and it squirts an monster distance 15/20 meters easy.
Amazing ...

Thanks, yes I did wonder if just a new one would be good or not, I'm guessing anything is better than a 23 year old one! I'll give that a try first and see.

The standard one should be fine if it's working properly and the jets are correctly adjusted, never had any issues with ours.

I found the best improvement was fitting a wiper mounted nozzle kit.
Fires the water just where you want it. Not too high at low road speed or to low at high road. speed.

This one ^^. I have just fitted this kit to both of mine. LINK

There is no jet on the end of The nozzle. I did look at several truck ones before getting these as I couldn’t find a truck one that was the long bar like These. But if they are scania I will know for next time.

I will have to doublecheck next time I get an old shape scania in but I thought there was a nozzle on the end which shot out 3 to 4 inches on the end of the wiper blade.
I think new shape scania has the nozzles under the wiper so maybe they are different?

The newer shape Dafs have the washer jets built into the wiper blade so there is about 20 to 25 separate nozzles very snazzy.

That’s what was fitted and I took it off as it wasn’t great. They did work ok before but it had been stood since November

Scania do a nice little bracket that clips onto the blade & holds the spray bar.

Some time they clog up, especially if they not been using screen wash. Dismantle and clean out.
Another thing you can do is fit another washer jet in the other hole in the bulkhead.

In the end I just replaced the pump with a new standard one and fitted a standard washer jet and and new hose. It seems to work very well. I think the pump I took off was the original one from 23 years ago so I guess it was a bit worn and leaving the vehicle stood for 5 months was the final straw !
