problem or not? had a yellow light pop up on dash doesnt stay on only does it now and again thought it was water bottle light but eventually looked in manuel and it said water in fuel filter as it was x mas eve couldnt wait for ebay and went to stealers only 40quid bas...ds but it still does it any ideas:

mine does this occasionally, just pops on for a sec then goes away again, just presumed it was ok because it never stayed on?

Check the wiring and switch is where I would start ya never know could be rubbing through somewhere and in long run cause bigger problems

checked it when i did filter does the wiring do anything else?

Nope, the sensors are just known to be problematic and were deleted on later vehicles, its "Unlikely" you will need the sensor in this country, so if it goes tits up, either disconnect and tie the loom out the way, or replace the sensor, up to you really

fit a new sender they are on ebay common problem if you unplug it does it go out of not then it could be a fault in the wiring

thanks for that didnt think it was big problem used to be quite handy with the spaners but got lazy now not so confident but sick of being ripped off

Mine is doing it as well - I originally changed the filter in case it actually had a point, but it still comes on from time to time.

I might remove the sender and clean the brass resistance probes to make sure there is no watery gunk between them that is shorting it out.
