Firstly, I have RR Classic 2.5TD 91/92. serious vibration since i bought it:mad: thought it could be remedied by new mounts, no it didn't:confused:. New Dampner on pulley did not solve it, all have reduced it marginally. However only option at present is to raise idling speed to keep it bearable. Suggestion please of where i could look next.
Secondly, recent engine problems have resulted in the cylinder head cover securing bolt stripping the thread from the head, what is the best course for repair, re thread ( and does the head need to be removed, or new head?

Any response appreciated.

Regards martin

I had serious engine vibration on a new Td5 defender. About 70mph,. It gradually got better until was almost normal after 12k miles. I ran it to 55k and sold it. But if yours is bad at idle look for broken engine mount.

No idea on stripped bolt, and this is wrong forum anyway ;)
