Did you try the lathe trick on any of the old ones, now they're not critical? Sounded like a nice method to me.
Yep, and all it did was take the tip off the tool.....(tool had to be thin to fit in the groove)

Don't forget to glaze bust the block, it's best you have new pistons as the old one/s are obviously weak in places.
