Hope this is ok to ask here. My mountain rescue team is just replacing our 2013 Defender 110 and we'll be looking at selling it soon. It's tricky to work out what it's worth so maybe some of you won't mind giving us an idea of your thoughts.

It's in generally good condition
Full roll cage with roof rack
Five seats
Just passed an MOT
Under 27000 miles
Serviced yearly
Kept in a garage most of it's life, only coming out for training and callouts
2.2 engine

Clearly as a mountain rescue team we're trying to get a good price for it, every penny helps our charity keep running.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi and welcome!

Nice looking Landy! From seeing a couple of similar vehicles sell on eBay in recent months, they’re popular and look to command good money. It’s difficult to put a price on it. A good starting point would be to see what similar vehicles go for in terms of model and spec, taking into account the additional kit fitted, low mileage and obvious careful use. It looks like a utility station wagon so look on autotrader and eBay at these for a starting figure and use a reserve. Others with a figure might provide a ballpark figure of their own.

Good luck with the sale. Let us know how you get on and what you replace it with. (Personally keep it though!)

Thanks Knappster and Anaconda.

Will have a look at completed sales on ebay.

As you'll imagine, there was a fairly long debate about replacing it or not. The decision was to go with a hilux.

I'd not expect any other response from a forum like this!

I know, all that experience and knowledge can't be wrong though.
I've got a Hilux (Mk8 DCPU) it's great for whizzing down the motorway and listening to the radio. Perfect for grassy fields and popping down to Aldi's.
If I go off road I take the Defender it's a lot better, easier to manoeuvre, much more visibility and (importantly) 'terrain feel'.
The Hilux is too soft and boat like, you can drive into problems before you know it.

Good as a backup vehicle though, park it in the carpark and take the defender up the hill.

Another choice could be a refurb of the one you have, there are several company's out there. Foley's is one. As yours is looking pretty well looked after likely it would be at lower end of price scale.
I drove many different 4x4's as a Coastguard rescue officer [ we only had SWB landy's] My favorite was the Toyota but this was the 2000's era model which was more of a working vehicle than todays Toyota.
