Hi Guys,

In the process of changing the valley pan gasket on my 2002 4.0. I'm about to start putting everything back together and RAVE indicated only to use a bit of RTV on the seals. I have however seen people mention using RTV or Blue Hylomar on the actual gasket, around the waterways and intakes.

Normally I just follow the manual but any thoughts please on previous experience of doing the job?

Cheers

RTV on the joints in the V
Don't need it on the manifold
It's quite awkward getting it all lined up, patience is key
I've still got some...

There's a notch fore and aft that needs a blob of RTV, but the rest not...

You stick the rubber seals in place at either end if i recall, front and rear
yes, but under where the rubber seals go there are notches (actually 4 total), which take a blob of RTV... but it's part of RAVE's refit procedure anyway, so as ever the advice is "follow RAVE"
