Depending where you are located, there may be someone nearby with a Nanocom. The hot film MAF used for the diesel is not like the hot wire device used on the petrols, I have never heard of one being successfully cleaned. Have you tried running with the MAF unplugged?

Says Belgium. Not so many people on here from Belgium that I can recall. Think there was a guy from the Netherlands but don't think he had diag.
 
I messed a bit more with it today, adjusting the fuel quantity meter part with a hammer. A few taps forward and now it runs beautifully. Still not very torquey but better than before and running smoother. Gear changes also happen sooner. So nothing broken after all, just human error. Very happy as the car is sold and will be collected on Monday. They test drove it but still I prefer to sell something which works as it should. Thanks for the help everyone!
