Hello. The vacuum pump on my 300tdi discovery has one of the core plugs missing. It's the one on the right hand side. The pump still produces vacuum and is not leaking out of the missing plug hole. Does the core plug hole the valve in place and is the car ok to drive until I'm able to repair it? Thanks

Can you post a photo? I know what a vacuum pump is and I know what a core plug is but I don't understand what you mean by

Hi. I can't seem to upload picture. If you look at the vacuum pump on the back facing out there is two core plugs. One of these on mine is missing.

Hi it's the bottom plug. Measured up at 21.5mm. A core plug from a defender part number 250830 is 7/8. With a bit of fetteling this should fit. In the process of sorting it now. Will let you know how I get on. Thanks

use a bit of loctite studlock or similar to help it seal and stay put

Hello. Fitted core plug in ok. Cleaned up inside of bad pump housing where core plug fits. Reduced diameter of core plug with emery. Takes a bit of time to do making sure it stays round with no flat spots. Tried into vacuum pump to ensure good fit. Smeared in sealant and tapped in. Plug cost 50 pence. Thanks
