Thanks Saint, I did have a 'bit' of help from Phil(Bemble) and Jason on the transmission and 90% of what I know about the Range came from you and this forum and the rest came from dismantling mine to see how it works or not as is more often the case.
Hamster is a prime example of the determination that these vehicles require to resolve the many problems as you know yourself Ant and I admire that :)
Now Hamster, hurry up and fix your tappets so I can start stripping my vanos !!

Still waiting on opinions to cheap tappets lol.
I assume you're waiting for the timing kit? Soon as I'm done I'll send it on mate BUT...... I'm not sure selling it would be a good idea, however, you are more than welcome to use it while I don't need it.
Got a new issue now as well, it's leaning left, it goes up and down no problem, doesn't drop when it's parked so I'm not thinking airbag, more probably a sensor?
Thanks for thinking I'm determined, I'm not, just plain stubborn, it's not going to beat me regardless of cost lol.
Thanks lads.

That's fine mate, no it's ok i'm not waiting on the timing kit, i can't afford to strip mine down yet, besides i couldn't stand the pressure of having yours unresolved before i started on mine, i worry about these things !!:)
I'll probably buy a set anyway as i have a feeling i will need it more than once.....

The leaning left could be height sensor, or it could just be having a turn, do you have an allcomms ?

No, not got allcoms mate, I was thinking of getting it though, would probably be really useful. I've been told to drive over a really bumpy road and see if it settles it as the front was on axle stands for 11 weeks.
I'm sorry for keeping you from your vanos rebuild, I'll get mine sorted asap lol.
Thanks mate.

Possible needs a re-cal of the suspension...can lose its set points sometimes and a re-cal just resets things again!

I did see the BMW part available on Amazon for about £12 each....by a company called Ajusa....who I dont know....

BMW Part Number
113 214 402 56

Amazon product

Good find Ant, my suspension gimped out when i had the MOT after it was hung from a ramp, think it's the dodgy height sensors.
Its difficult to see what would wear on the tappets and cause them to tick but if they are available to buy, somebody must be buying lots of them

whilst it is rare for them to go as they are simple two bits of metal tube that slide into eachother with a seal and a oil in them....if the port gets gunged up and the oil flow is blocked they will drain, unpump and rattle....

So they are dead simple in operation, but good oil flow and clean ports are essential....

They do go, but it is not common and it is also not rare!

Excellent find Saint, I'll get my order in. Looks like I'm going to be Guinea pig to see if cheapos work as I can't see them being OEM at that price.
Think I'll buy allcoms and play with my suspension but if I had to blame one height sensor it would be rear left.

Anybody?
Could someone check this listing on ebay for me please.
Item number 121825001021
Listed as MGZR 1.8 lifters but gives it as an alternative to LGR 100330 which I'm sure is the same part number for the 4.4 V8 lifters.
Can anybody confirm this?
Thanks.

Not the same Part Number bud.....

You need LGR000010 not LGR100330

Thanks mate, I only asked because LGR100330 comes up as an alternative part number to the BMW Part Number 113 214 402 56
Not sure where you found that reference....but hmmmm not sure....

Found these in germany......8x for about £35

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8X-STUCK-...543885?hash=item58c81e310d:g:GmQAAOSwHnFVlAL9

Made by RUF which is a name I recognise!

EDIT....WAIT....The part number checks out but they list it for the 2X engines (20, 23, 25,28, etc)

But the number checks out!
