my 109 has a v8 out of a rover p5b,the starter motor is fubar but p5b starter motors are like rocking horse poo.anyone know for definite what other starter motors fit and work?
 
would it be the same as a rangie starter? i've got a range rover 3.5 v8 in me shed, could get some details off the starter for yer...
 
Call a motor factors place, get them to look up which starter motor will fit yours & see if the part number is the same as for a RR V8?

They are fairly standard I reckon, tho' differ quite a bit in overall size. My new un' is a fraction of the size of me old original one. Makes it a doddle ter fit.
 
tried the local factors and got a blank unknowing look when i asked for a rover p5b starter motor!.i expect the little scrotes know all the part numbers for a vauxhall corsa though!
 
Is your totally farked? like non starter? If you can git ter B/stoke I'm happy ter oik mine orf & see if it fits yer motor.

I've had to remove it abart a hundred times recently after it got filled with good ol' Salisbury mud, so wun more time int gunna hurt!
 
Acherly, cun't yer jest take yours to an indie LR place & compare it wiv one from stock? Keith Gotts or somewhere.

Or bring it over here for comparison? I just dun't reckon it'll be that different.
