Without knowing what engine you've got it's difficult to say for certain but this is typical of the behaviour i was experiencing from my TD4 before the Turbo died.

Hi Tony
yep Its a TD4 , just spent £600 on injectors
doesn’t happen that often at the mo but when it douse gets a bit hairy

he has a td4 ES.
Could this be the hoses or fuel pump?

do a search on "td4 loss power"
and wait for Minge or Mondeo :)

When this affected my TD4 it would kick in just as i hit 70. If i kept my foot down it would eventually pick up speed again and accelerate through 70 ok. If i selected sport mode and dropped a gear it would also pick up again. Are you getting any excess smoke Mike? Just before the turbo went this got very bad at idle, when i opened the throttle the smoke cleared. What millage have you done? Mine went at 100,000. The other possibilities are a collapsing hose or faulty MAF sensor.

Reet mickjack check yer inlet rubbers first [no small holes a common fault] lift up bonnett take orft engine cover [two large rubber pipes lookin from left ta right at grill end] next its fuel filter look in hienz book . . .that should keep ya busy for a bit. . .and best oh luck. . .:)

I've had a similar problem, I let the diesel get a bit low...........so I guess all the crud from the bottom of the tank got stired up. I now use a diesel treatment.................and more importantly don't let the diesel get too low!! :)
