hi
it was a toss up between keeping my ridiculous 4 inch lift and changing the trailing arms or putting a new suspension without lift on and ive opted for lower suspension...

does anybody know of a good upgrade suspension without lift? im loathed to spend 200 on standard springs and shocks

cheers

I've got Flatdog HD standard springs all round, keeps me level round corners going at speed

Britpart HD springs and shocks standard height. Happy with them on mine, no roll and handles well.

I went for standard springs and TerraFirma shocks. Pretty happy with that combo. You have to remind yourself that the new springs will still probably lift the car a bit. Frankly though the best way to improve ground clearance is bigger wheels n tyres.

Depends what you want: ground clearance, load carrying capability, high speed (!) cornering and handling, what? Nice shiny springs and shocks? Bearmach are a particularly fetching shade of blue!

If your not carrying much, put medium duty in. It's a good compromise and I had them on my disco. Made it drive well and still soaked up some of the bumps. Was a bit stiff on the back end but I could fill it with people and it wouldn't sit down much. 7 lads in it and it would rub arches on the corners occasionally.

Slightly cheaper than hd and the better combination!

Progressive springs, koni dampers would be one of the best options. More pricy though hd springs would help stop roll but bring a more harsh ride. You can actually use softer springs with harder dampers. I read about it a while back that this is actually the better option but not good for weight carrying

You could go really mad with coilovers, longer mounts and triple bypass shocks but this is more of a £15K setup ;)

+1. I went with the same setup as there's only usually me in it and I didn't want the harder ride you get with HD springs. Pretty happy so far
