Does anyone else have any sensible suggestions for a place to meet?

Also what nights suit people? I know many have family and stuff...

Looks like that one's drew a blank!!
I can work around most nights but unfortunately I don't have any locations to add. I'm not to sure on the area between Durham and Newcastle. What about the pub in Eighton Banks you mentioned??

That pub is fine with me - just need to hear from others and what night suits people

As I said, that one's fine with me as well :) The 90's rolling again since Wednesday with a spiffy, scarily quiet gearbox but I'll be off comms again for another week so any time after that really. If it's evening I can work around any evening at all. You free before October now then Rosie?

Aye I can do week nights :) I can bring the dog there so it's no bother

Are you looking for a pub night meet or something more?
Where I live ( North Yorks) there is a hotel which is in its own woodland grounds, space for camping and various rooms including a bunk room often used by groups of coast to coast cyclists. could make a great venue for a weekend meet, the woods are a few acres and they have a steep slope on them might be interesting.
Spoke with the owner who told me that he would be interested if you wanted a meet and there is a good room for live music in the evening, just needs that people treat the place with respect i.e. don't leave a mess or do too much damage in the woods, use his bar rather than take your own drinks clean up before you go, and try to respect the locals.

Sounds good raywin, think it'd be just a pub meet initially for me though as I've got a lot on at the mo but that venue could be good for later on. Depends what the mob want really. Cheers

No prob I just saw this post and mentioned it when I called in for refreshment last week.
Keep it in mind and contact me if you want to look deeper into it, I am not going to post any detail here, but I can give you the web site in a PM.

How about this Sunday (11th October) afternoon then at Rosie's pub? I will be nursing a hangover no doubt after the Scotland match but a cooked breakfast and a barrel of Irn Bru should have sorted me out by then! Either that or one evening between 19th and 22nd October? If anyone's got any other dates or venues then chuck 'em in and see what folks want to do. Sunday afternoon and that pub should be ok for kids and dogs etc. as well?

Ok, see who else thinks Sunday afternoon's ok and then come up with a time that suits the majority, maybe 3.00, something like that?

There should have been a "join NE up here" thing where a distribution list would help to (say) PM interested people
