Hi all, have picked up a new project in the shape of an R reg 300tdi 110CSW

She is somewhat of an ugly duckling but mechanically very good. Appears to have benefitted over the years from proper maintenance and upgrades.

I've a vibration around 55-65mph which I believe is play in one of 5he front UJs. Crawled under it today and realised something I hadn’t noticed before.

Rear shocks aren’t the usual arrangement and are angled fwd and very chunky. In addition to this there appears to be a 3rd central damper in front of the rear Diff?

I have not come across this before and can’t find anything on the net?....ant help with an I.D

The centre strut is a BOGE Hydromat self leveling unit, its a nitrogen charged and it levels "when moving" the back end if she is loaded up, quite a neat device if it works.

any pics the central damper is self levelling unit, it means you can use lighter sprongs and carry weight you would with heavier springs hence its use on csw

Thanks guys...it’s a new one on me. It rides a little lower than my old 200tdi as well but that may have been lifted previously. One thing I will say is despite the funky looks she goes like the clappers!...boost pin, pump fettled & full width intercooler... quick for a 2.7t 110

Will take some in the Am....My 200 110CSW had a different set up

the rear shocks themselves are aftermarket terrafirmma units and are very chunky
