Yer understanding of this is wrong. Interpreting the law doesn't work. A vehicle must have insurance as I wrote'd above. Yer own insurance policy stating abc has nothing to do with it. It's the regs/laws. Yer own policy is to drive, not to be on the road, for vehicles yer dun't own. If you had been pulled by the police yer would have needed a lift home when they took it oft you. Harsh I know but that's how it is. You were the owner as yer paid for it so yer can't drive it as someone else's vehicle on your insurance.Just been reading other forums 'piston heads', compare, confused, money-supermarkert .... It depends on the DOC cover, some specify that the vehicle must have its own insurance, others don't. However bear in mind that once the DOC driver leaves the vehicle it is then uninsured & if left in a public place could get done!

Have anyone recommended downloading the RAVE workshop manual?
Cheers
Is that fully comp with an agreed price? Have yer limited the miles. Half what I pay for ma hippo.A Plan will hopefully phone me on Monday. I've fuilled their online form in. I got a quote from Adrian Flux. It was £314.00 but it said it could be cheaper and to contact them. I don't think £314 is dear ... or is it?
It has to be this emotion one as there's no laughing out loud. I'm gonna take some pictures tomorrow. It's getting a list of maybe the first five things I need to do in the right sequence. So do I take the sagging vinyl off then wire in the alarm, or do I throw smart water on it first ... or put a tracker on before a disability switch that makes the engine unswitchable onable ... or put the barrel lock on the tailgate first. Then I want to see if I can either get a bigger fuel tank or a different fuel guage as a fuel guage not working will do my head in. Then I've dog crates to get, but do I get the wright's noise reducing stuff first and a rubber floow mat for the boot. Head's spinning as it's a right old palaver.Yer understanding of this is wrong. I think we should get back to fixing yer tratter.
Upgrade the security as they're easily stolen. I nick them to sell them in bits. Profit goes towards keeping ma hippo ont road.
Half what I pay for ma hippo.

I must've cocked up the online form. I would only have ticked fully comp but I might have put a 2.5 engine in as I didn't know it was a 300. It's really the dogs car, so I might have only put 6 or 8k miles a year. They don't send a pdf copy of what I put unfortunately, just this "We've stored a provisional rate of £314.40. While we hope our quote is competitive, it is probably not our best price. It is very likely that we can only offer you our cheapest rates over the phone. In fact, 75% of customers can get a cheaper quote - often much cheaper - if they call us.*Is that fully comp with an agreed price? Have yer limited the miles. Half what I pay for ma hippo.
I do not understand that either.......what is it? Yes it is Adrian, I have personal recovery cover so do nto need it as part of my insurance...LOL. But then I drive aDisco and a Fender , so never needed it anyway.........................Honest....
Cheers
@neilly
I don’t need my AA as A plan give it too so I am doubly covered.

I am guessing all the paperwork cant educate a spotty faced teenager at AF “oh it a RR “ eh Yes,No.
“Is it modified?” No it’s a fecking OF 630r (yes it’s slightly modified you have google just like me)
So safe to say A plan get our businesses it was a long conversation that went nowhere.

Tis fast becoming one of them there "should av bought a Freelander" fred'sHair dressing as I understand it carries a premium on the policy. So no wonder it is more.
Cheers
its also a brilliant engine, long lasting and simple after that to rebuild for even greater longer lasting, dont knock the tdiyer 300tdi is 2495cc or 2.5L
122 horse power
0-60mph time... chuckle.
Most tratterers keep a pig int back of their tratter. Not a dog.
Security first. Even if it has an alarm... it's easily nicked. I normally undo the screws holding the headlight in. Then pull the headlight out. Then disconnect the horn which is used for the alarm. The standard fit alarms int brilliant. They're cr*p when the horn is disconnected. I then unscrew the door hinge to get int side to release the hand brake. Fit tow rope to it and ma hippo then tow it away. It's that easy. I take a helper with me to steer the tratter until further down the road. Then we tow start it and drive oft.

Security first. The best thing that can happen when yer tratter is stolen is yer get it back. Most don't get theirs back.
Yer a funny lot on here. Either I've spent my life being totally oblivious to people pulling my leg, or I dunno if people are pulling my leg, trying to help me by discreetly suggesting I curve the ball, or are telling me stuff that corrects the seller's bulls*%t???? I am genuinely naive you know (I was probably being too harsh calling myself thick lol). There may be some brain damage, but that's just down to waking up in farmer's fields from Somerset to Glasgow during the first summer of love and the acid house Rave culture I was caught in the middle of). So is it a 300tdi or a 2.5 then? Or is it best to say it's a 2.5 and not a 300tdi?yer 300tdi is 2495cc or 2.5L

The size is 2495cc which is 2.495L which is rounded to 2.5L. That represents the capacity of the cylinder.Yer a funny lot on here. Thank you for that. I understand now :0)The size is 2495cc which is 2.495L which is rounded to 2.5L. That represents the capacity of the cylinder.
Yer engine is called a 300tdi. If 300tdi isn't available in the list then select 2.5L diesel.
Sadly nicking tratters is a job for some people. It provides them an income. Increase the security or its at risk greater risk.
If yer have a read of the Stolen section yer will see many eggsamples of what has happened to others. Towed away from a busy Tesco carpark. Peeps loytering around yer house or driving past slowly and yer heap disappears later that night. Carried away on a recovery truck at 2pm int afternoon. Sad but true.
Etch the windows and paintwork with the kit I linked to above. Change the screws/bolts on show to security type. Fit an alarm with vibration and motion sensing. Don't park it out of sight at home. If it's hidden by a hedge from others then consider cutting it down so more peeps can see it parked up. Think about a tracker.
Police had their 110 tratter doors and bonnet stolen. It rained that night so we can't be certain they din't fall oft and wash away. It was parked over night outside the police station which I think is only manned in the day.
