Mines a van but I don't use it commercially its fir walking he dogs and off roading, they did ask me why I had bought a van and not a station wagon I replied cause they are cheeper to buy, I own a Van if work

My mates 21 04plate td5 defender, it's registered as a van but has windows and 4 seats in the back his insurance is about 500 quid, think he said he was with admiral.

Keep shopping around I've found that 'specialist' insurers aren't always the cheapest...

Fender van (3 seats) 1989 2.5 turbo diesel.
17y owner driver with dad (50) named on policy (think we have a 6k milage/year)
£1550 Aviva but you do need to get to the right dept and stress its a van and its 24 year old motor. Then you get a sensible quote:)

Admiral on my first year with the 90 basic mods like lights roof rack etc was about £650, then second year boyfriend crashed it and wrote off a car, still went back to admiral though as it went down still...
Now with diamond £400andsomething fully comp and I'll be 25 (wahhhhhh) in march

I'm 21 and I drive a land rover 90 . I'm with flux first time on my own insurance . If that helps ?

My lad is 19, admiral were the only company willing to insure him with his sj410.. The others either wouldn't touch him or wanted a kings ransom...

I am with admiral always found them the cheapest especially on multicar, i am now 24 and just insured for my 3rd year with them. Started off with a mazda 6, then a nissan terrano, ford mondeo now a discovery. When swapping the cars mid policy they always seemed quite reasonable as well not shafting me for changing.

The fella from adrian flux quoted me and was a little bit cheaper this year, only reason i didnt change though was because only about £15.00 difference in the end and couldnt be bothered with the aggro of swapping.

Im 24 and with elephant wich is admiral i pay £600 fully comp with a 12k mileage and dad as named driver on my 90

Havent got a defender yet but was looking at 1985 NA 2.5d and Aviva quoted me £798.9 3rd party fire and theft with two parents as aditional drivers! x

Just had renewal for 1989 90 TD standard van. Owner, driver 18yrd + Dad added as additional driver.

After shopping round now putting it on a multi car policy with Mum's 1 litre Pixo

£1350 fully comp for both with Aviva

Pixo was £250 last year.

im 24 just insured a series 3 lightweight with Lancaster! did the quote on gocompare was only £117 fully comp with no ncb as that is on my van, this was on a normel classic car insurance policy
they also insure my my old vauxhall nova for £160 a year with no ncb both on limited mileage and cant use for going work etc
