Sell them there and be done with it. What you make and save, you can buy one here. Don’t let your heart rule your head.
not quite - way cheaper here - not appraciating anything of quality and I specc'd top end now paying :)

The 90 isn't practical, so likely go - but the 110 is a tricky call...

Drive them have an adventure :D.

But then at $1/mile I guess it would be cheaper to ship than pay the fuel/ferries/hotels costs. but then the dogs flight tickets could offset the savings.

I am just trying to manmath🤔 my way to say. If you have 2 rust free RHD landies and 1 being a V8 you will probably want 1 in the UK when you do get there. So why not hang on to what you have?

3 dogs through some of the worst counties in the world to go through.... no thanks.... kind of wanna get home :)

1 in the UK (the camper) is the right answer, providing I can insure it and store it, and if I want to sell likely get more in the UK even after shipping./.

That seems bloody expensive. I’d be doing 1 x 40’ container - fill it with 2 cars and your other junk stuff (use the space in the cars also), and ship from/to ports that prove the most cost-effective.

I was recently talking to some guys doing a Himalayan rally, and they are shipping over some F1s from the UK for around £2,500 / container, IIRC. Might pay you to ask about a bit.

Or flog them over there like @meego says, - but if the market is not as stupid strong as the UK, you might be losing £££ in selling there and then struggle to replace your (known quality) with something here.
You're kidding - that's cheaper than 2014 when we came out here - shipping is actually one of the few cheaper things - and that covers all exporting / deregistering/importing / MOT and into UK plates as well, not just the shipping

The 90 I don't think makes sense, but an overland camper feels useful in the Lakes / Alps as well as the Masai Mara...

I’ve just checked with a colleague - 40’ container UK to Durban or Cape Town is currently $2675 US., quayside to quayside.
Appreciate that’s just the sea ‘movement’.

Yeah, about right - backup is a bit less, but yeah about that - they go around the left side, not the right side...

Don't forget my costs include the equivalent of Pickfords packing a decade of house / and unpacking in the house in the UK 3 months later....
Kenyan car prices are high, you might get more for them here, than they would be worth in the UK?
some yes - some no - I sold a Discovery 4 after 10 years and 100k extra km and got more for it than when I bought it here in 2014 so yes, and older more "basic" like my 1984 Defender 90 soft top - agree yes - the sticky one comes on the 110 camper - as I top spec'd it (wasn't planning on moving) and as such the amount I've spent is nowhere near what people seem willing to pay here - early conversations looking at £30-40k hit after just 9 months of building this thing....

I think I'd prefer to get it to the UK and keep it - then the hit can be taken a lot later when I'm not thinking about it any more :)

But could you replace it like for like 🤔.

J
I think the '90 convertible with the silly 4l V8 while romantic is a bit daft to bring back - AND the amount I get here for iut SHOULD cover all the house/dogs / 110 shipping...... so that feels the right thing to do even though I love it - just can't see many days in Yorkshire crusing around with no roof (even if wearing a bobble hat! ;-)

Both babies..... It's a dilemma....
