I would agree with this, they may be more expensive to buy but in terms of pence per mile work out fairly cheaply. I got 100k out of my last set and sold them with 4mm of tread for about £200 (set of 5). My current set of them (set of 6) has about 100k on them and are about half worn. I do regularly rotate them so there is even wear across the whole set.BF Goodrich AT’s. Not cheap but very good on-road and they last really well.

I would agree for road tyres, but disagree for offroad tyres on a land rover. For off road tyres none of them grip very well when compared to road only ones . The very nature of an off road tyre makes it a compromise. Bring back crossply bar girpsI might be a bit out of touch with modern tyre technology but having had dozens of different cars over the years, it seems to me tyres that last a long time don't grip particularly well and tyres that grip really well don't last long.
