All, I've been running Malatesta Kaiman's (205R16 mud terrains like the Insa Turbu Special Track) on after market steel wheels on my Disco for most of the year, my usage includes Tyro Trialling and Green Laning. With the purchase of our CCV car (which will be receiving the Kaiman's) I'm thinking about switching to All Terrains on the original alloys. The alloys are currently shod in 235/70 R 16's but I wonder if I should stick with the 205R16's for better grip in mud? I realise this will be at the expense of ride and ease of steering. Would appreciate others thoughts please.

Not sure I follow about ease of steering, or even ride. They will be about the same height with the same sidewall size. Just one will be narrower.

28.91" vs 28.95" tall

205's might look a little stretched if your alloys are wide though.

Personally I'd probably opt for a nice mud terrain rather than an AT. I tend to find AT's offer the worst of all worlds a lot of the time.

I'd look for something with sipes, so it'll work in the wet and ice. But with lugs big enough that you could still venture off road should you want too.
